RAD Research Associate AMD Research and Advanced Development (RAD) seeks a Computer Science or Engineering graduate students to work on novel GPU and networking performance modeling of distributed scale-up/scale-out systems. The candidate must be in a Masters or PhD degree program. The projects involve investigating cutting-edge GPU and networking architectures with an emphasis on optimizing cluster-scale applications that are bounded by memory and/or communication performance. Prior experiences with ML/HPC/datacenter research, middleware and device driver development, and familiarity with ML frameworks, OpenSHMEM, or MPI programming models are preferred. Strong GPU programming skills along with familiarity with GPU performance modeling, GPU architectures and GPU performance optimization are also desired. AMD nurtures and encourages all co-ops to file quality patents and publish at top-tier research venues out of their internship projects.
