JOB OVERVIEW:

The Operator is responsible for all aspects of the Cookbin Washer operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for understanding the HMI Screens and the initial starting of the machine. This position requires fluent English, the ability to read and make selections required to start the wash process.

  • Computer knowledgeable to maneuver into numerous HMI Screens to monitor temperatures, water levels, chemical controls, safety systems and machine and conveyor status screens and their meanings.

  • Ensure inventory of washed cook bins are available for production needs.

  • Ensure adequate supplies of detergent and rinse aid are ordered and available for the washer.

  • Required to perform minor maintenance and sanitation, including pre-washing certain components of the cook bins. Must accomplish daily general clean up.

  • Performs inventory of slide gate hooks, to ensure they are all accounted for, notify Supervisor in the event you cannot account for them all.

  • Ensure inventory of washed cook bins are available for production needs.

  • May be able to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required by supervisor.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum level of education required.

  • High School Diploma or GED

Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience.

  • N/A

Other required type(s) of functional experience (e.g., Production/Operations, Accounting, Forklift Operator, Inventory Control, etc.)

  • Position requires knowledge of machine operation to keep machinery and equipment operating.

  • Must have excellent communication skills.

  • Must be able to work under limited supervision.

  • Received guidelines from supervisor/lead operator but is expected to decide what actions to take when handling all but the most unusual task.

  • Must regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and work schedules.

  • Must have basic math skills.

  • Work consists of a wide range of tasks requiring a high level of problem-solving skills that result in solutions from several alternatives.

  • Must have basic PC skills.

  • Must understand and adhere to Blue Diamond line certification, HACCP process and auditing, Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Must help maintain product quality while meeting output standards.

  • Must be able to interpret and accomplish tasks and directives described in complex technical, administrative, professional and company guidelines.

  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary.

  • Special Equipment Used: Cookbin Washer and Forklift/transporters.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES (Specialized education, specific software experience, etc.)

  • Machine operating experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be required to communicate with others and regularly climb stairs. On shift employee is constantly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves sitting, walking, and lifting less than 10 pounds for long periods of time throughout the day.
