Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Senior Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Senior Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the EMC, Environmental, and Dynamics departments and ensures timely and accurate results under minimal direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.



Responsibilities

Project Integration and Installation:

    Perform hands-on installation, configuration, and testing of hardware and software systems on customer projects, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to specifications
  • Integrating customer electronic systems into Element systems for Power, Remote monitoring, Data collection, and other required systems
  • Interact directly with customers on-site, providing technical explanations, updates on project progress, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure seamless project execution and timely completion. Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate internal resources as needed

Develop Test Methods and Procedures:

  • Develop testing methods for Environmental, Dynamics, EMC, and other tests performed at the labs
  • Focus on automation and optimization of activities in the lab
  • Through automation and optimization, improves the efficiency and performance of testing in order to enhance the bottom line of the business
  • Perform Testing

Perform specific billable test activities on customer projects:

  • Energy Star testing
  • Specific engineering setups
  • Security setups and installations

Electronics Support and Upgrades:

  • Provide technical support and maintenance for electronic equipment used in testing and facility processes
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of automation and control systems
  • Troubleshoot electronic equipment malfunctions and performance issues

Security Systems:

  • Meet customer security requirements for ITAR and other protection of intellectual property
  • Install, maintain, and monitor security systems, including access control, surveillance cameras, and intrusion detection systems
  • Respond to security issues and investigate incidents

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of technical incidents, troubleshooting steps, and equipment maintenance
  • Prepare reports on system performance, security incidents, and project status


Skills / Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in technical field with 6 to 9 years of experience in testing, inspection and certification or commensurate with experience
  • Experience with low-voltage electronics
  • Able to design and implement basic circuits
  • Experience with coding and managing software systems
  • Team player with initiative and good communication skills and dedicated in responsibilities
  • Expertise in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, Power Automate
  • Demonstrates the ability to work efficiently and be flexible
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop relationships to all levels of the business and with customers
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage work within the defined area of responsibility
  • Ability to apply logical reasoning and thinking analytically
