The Hardware Engineering V position is responsible for developing strategy and technology roadmaps for electrical design for new hardware products across our retail hardware portfolio with a focus on POS systems, Self Checkout solutions, and I/O peripherals. Tasks include specification creation as well as supporting the development and integration of retail hardware solutions. This senior hardware engineering role requires the ability to integrate advanced technology, theories or techniques as well as provide strong technical leadership and support to the global teams. The engineer will work as a part of the global Toshiba GCS development team and interact directly with Portfolio, Sales team as well as customers. Responsibilities: Studies new technology and trends and develops strategy and technology roadmaps. Communicates strategy and technology roadmaps to executive staff and customers. Integrate VOC in product design/development with focus on product cost and quality. Provides SME, consultation, design input, and feedback for new product development and design reviews across multiple organizations and architectures Guides and mentors less- experienced staff members to set an example of electrical hardware design Requirements: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience. 10+ years overall system architecture, design and development experience with proven credentials of developing, designing & architecting hardware products Interpersonal and leadership skills, collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills. Wide-ranging Electrical/Computer Engineering background with focus in Logic design Industry expert regarding development of electronic hardware Thorough experience with the development of product electrical specifications and associated design documentation Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills Experience in overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions Extensive experience working in a cross-functional, collaborative environment across multiple sites Excellent written and oral communication skills both up and down the organizational chain Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at the most senior organizational levels Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is a dynamic billion-dollar global company based in Research Triangle Park, NC, providing retail store solutions to your favorite brands.
