Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Lead Technician to join our security business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Terminate, label, and install equipment that include Access Control, CCTV (analog and IP), Intrusion Detection and Intercom systems.
  • Plan wiring pathways, assign IP addresses to cameras, make recommendations based on applicable codes, standards and best practices
  • Coordinate with Project Management team to ensure availability of materials and equipment needed for project startup
  • Support our service department and customers
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in assessing and troubleshooting of issues and problems
  • Commissioning system upon completion of installation
  • Coordinate with customer on scope of work, scheduling, and completion
  • Track time and materials for change orders
  • General knowledge of Work Breakdown Structure and Change Management
  • General knowledge of NEC codes related to low voltage systems, building, fire, and electrical codes
  • Proficient in use of digital multi-meter
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and plans and specs
  • Working knowledge of common tools in security system installation including PPE and OSHA Regulations
  • Attention to detail, safety and quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to lead a crew through to project completion
  • Ability to provide training to other technicians
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • High school diploma
  • Expert knowledge of video and access control systems and security integration
  • 5 years of experience in the electronic field where AC/DC theory is used daily
  • 5 years of experience working with computers at a systems level
  • Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
  • Understanding of best practices and capable of implementing them within the business
  • Ability to function as an effective Team Leader with ability to organize staff workload for effective implementation
  • Decision making skills, capable of carrying out responsibilities and fostering team results
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to close projects effectively, on time and on budget
  • Ability to adapt, contribute and work in team environments and help educate / mentor others. Interacting effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
  • Strong communication skills (Written / Verbal). Able to draft technical documentation as required. Capable of conveying topics on a one-on-one basis or group setting
  • Able to convey technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Results oriented and customer focused


Basic Qualifications:


  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience or training on manufacturer systems installations; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years' access control & cctv field experience
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
