The Retirement Servcies Intern supports the Retirement Services team by shadowing the team and assisting with client service requests and special projects. This individual must have strong critical-thinking skills and work well individually as well as part of a team. A qualified candidate is a clear communicator, is detail-oriented, and has a high degree of follow-through. The candidate will be exposed to a variety of financial topics including but not limited to, employer sponsored retirement plans, client service, investment management, retirement planning, and financial planning.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Gain experience working in a professional environment.
  • Learn how to strategize/problem-solve in a team environment to help clients achieve financial goals.
  • Experience what it is to play a critical role in promoting client loyalty and a great client experience.
  • Develop relationships with potential mentors, who are leaders in the wealth management field.
  • Works closely with various members of the firm's Wealth Management team.
  • Provide service support to Retirement Services department and associated financial advisors.
  • Assist staff in the Wealth Management areas relating to administrative duties and resolving customer questions.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by manager.



Qualifications

Education/Experience:


  • Enrolled college student pursuing a degree in business, accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, or related area.



Skills:


  • Proficient in Adobe PDF and Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on Excel and formulas.
  • Cooperative spirit and drive, but with an ability to work independently but also in a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under strict deadlines.
  • Must be able to work with a significant amount of detailed information in an accurate, timely, and confidential manner.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to interact with customers and prospects in a professional manner.
  • Ability to navigate numerous websites, platforms, and software technologies with ease.
