Applies extensive knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and industry practices to the planning, directing and coordination of manufacturing and repair processes.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex and unusual problems that require independent judgment and ingenuity referring to policies and procedures for guidance. Work is accomplished under general direction and completed work is reviewed for results.
  • Provides technical leadership and support to shop floor personnel by resolving issues relating to processes, technical publication interpretation and customer requirements.
  • Reviews, proposes and implements changes to bills-of-materials and planning documents.
  • Develops and implements systems to enable accurate cost analysis, material usage and labor hour requirements for each product line in order to provide data for the RFQ process and BOM development.
  • Reviews technical publications for the revision of planning and evaluate in-house capability to perform maintenance, repair and overhaul tasks.
  • Researches and gathers repair data for products we repair globally. Processes Material Master creations, changes and deletions.
  • Researches, creates, and inputs the Engineering data in SAP to drive repairs in the SAP MRO system. Works closely with repair teams in the US, Singapore and Wales.
  • Reviews and evaluates product requests from customer for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards, and specifications. Coordinates the design to meet customer requirements and discusses proposal with customer representatives, engineers, and other personnel.
  • Confers with management in planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. May provide tooling specifications and designs as required.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production time, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
  • Works closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Production Control, Tooling and Quality to exchange information.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements

Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or other appropriate discipline.

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.

Skills and Competencies

  • Must be able to read and write the English language, perform basic mathematical calculations and learn to interpret and comprehend company policies, procedures, safety instructions, and other like documents used in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competence in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Makes telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and makes formal presentations to small or large groups.
  • Must have good technical understanding of the MRO business.
  • Must be able to read and decipher technical Manuals, blueprints and Illustrated Parts Lists.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP and related transactions and implications.

Work Environment Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
