THE ROLE: VP, Lifetime Programming

A+E Networks is seeking an experienced executive to join the Lifetime Movie Programming team, developing movies for both Lifetime and LMN. The role involves ensuring the creative quality and consistent delivery pipeline of Lifetime and LMN television movies. Each executive oversees the entire movie development process from concept to post-production, including idea generation, script development, casting, and final execution, and coordinating with internal departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Content Development & Production: Oversees the entire movie development process from concept to post-production, including idea generation, script development, general budget management, casting, and final execution.

  • Creative & Talent Management: Builds and nurtures strong relationships with writers, producers, directors, agents, and talent to attract high-quality projects.

  • Market & Trend Analysis: Identifies fresh concepts and programming trends that expand the network's audience base and increase revenue.

  • Strategic Partnerships: Works closely with internal teams including casting, marketing, research, content sales, and distribution to maximize the impact of new programming.

  • Diversity & Audience Engagement: Develops content that builds and retains viewership, broadens demographic appeal, and attracts advertisers.

  • Acquisitions & Output Deals: Maintains awareness of potential programming acquisitions, creatively works on both LOM and output movies to ensure synergy and quality control across all budget levels.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 5+ years in movie or television programming, with at least 2 years at a Director level or higher.

  • Industry Connections: Established relationships with top-tier creative professionals, including independent producers, directors, and talent.

  • Proven Taste: Track record of appealing, well-produced projects that have broad audience appeal.

  • Creative & Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to generate and execute compelling programming ideas while balancing business goals.

  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Strong ability to articulate creative vision and strategy to stakeholders across all levels.

  • Adaptability & Business Acumen: Ability to navigate industry changes, balance creative and financial considerations, pivot quickly, and drive growth in a competitive market.

  • Self-Directed & Energetic: Entrepreneurial self-starter and successful collaborator within teams. Able to deal with the pressures of the competitive entertainment marketplace.

  • Financial acumen: Ability to analyze production budgets, tax credits (US and International), and co-production details a bonus.

  • Integrity & Judgment: Characterized by high integrity and sound judgment.

Compensation Annual Pay Range: $214,440 - $250,895 Annual Incentive Target: 25.00%

be based ona number of differentfactors such asa candidate's qualifications, skills,
