Your Role With Us: As a CNA I at Salem Health in Psychiatric Patient Services, the role primarily involves providing direct patient care in alignment with policies, procedures, and competencies outlined in the CNA I Task List. You will accurately perform both basic and advanced patient care skills, ensuring the safety and well-being of each patient. This includes observing and reporting any changes in a patient's condition, such as abnormal vital signs, behavior, or skin integrity, to the Primary Nurse. The CNA I will assist with personal care tasks, ensuring patients are treated with respect and compassion while encouraging self-care and balancing rest and activity. Documentation responsibilities will involve accurately recording patient information using proper medical terminology while ensuring confidentiality and legibility. You will also contribute to maintaining a safe environment by adhering to infection control policies, handling equipment properly, and keeping the workspace free from clutter. In addition to core responsibilities, the CNA I will demonstrate flexibility by adjusting their schedule and tasks as needed, accepting various patient care assignments, and supporting the orientation of new employees. While certain advanced skills fall outside the scope of a Level 1 CNA, the role will focus on performing assigned duties within the established competencies, always prioritizing patient care and safety.
