Tower Semiconductor is looking for a Facilities Technician in Newport Beach, CA. The Facilities Technician will be responsible for supporting the FAB Abatement systems repairs, performing electronic troubleshooting, VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) replacement, and supporting facilities control systems. Also, review spare parts inventory requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is to sustain Abatement systems such as Ecosys Marathon/Guardian units, Centrotherm, and Scrubbers for semiconductor equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair for Abatement systems.
- Perform work according to manufacturer's blueprints, schematics, specifications, and procedures.
- Maintain PM schedule for all Abatement equipment and work with Management to make sure PMs are completed on time.
- Document failures in Promis system. Make recommendation for improvement.
- Review and maintain a critical spare parts inventory for facilities assets.
- Review and updates PM procedures as needed.
- Perform general repairs on facility equipment such as VFD, and control and instrumentation.
- Support Chillers and Heat Exchangers repairs.
- Perform calibration on facility assets as needed.
- Operate, maintain, and assist as required to modify facilities computer, related software systems, and PLC's.
- Follow company safety, procedures, and health regulations. Stay up to date on maintenance procedures and documentation.
Working Environment: Assignment Complexity:
- Work assignments are somewhat non-repetitive to moderate in nature; solve complex problems and assist other Operator/Technicians with a variety of tasks. Participate in problem solving teams.
Accountability/Discretion:
- Works under general supervision and have considerable freedom for independent actions. Makes decisions that impact production, support FAB areas, operations and offices. Assignment complexity somewhat non-repetitive to moderate in nature; solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Participate in problem solving teams.
Working Relationships:
- Communicates/works closely with internal customers/outside contractors. Interface with other groups such as Equipment and Production
Supervision
- No management responsibilities. Communicate with senior technicians and management for directions and escalate as needed
Working Conditions
- Potential exposure to hazardous materials and noisy environment. Required to lift Max of 50 lbs load. For load higher than 50 pounds help from other Operators/Technicians and follow safety procedures will be required. Works in a Fab clean-room environment.
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing facilities abatement and control equipment (e.g., specific types of abatement systems, control panels, etc.).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electronic/electrical equipment issues, including identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Deep understanding of the operation and maintenance of facilities-related equipment, such as chillers (specify types, e.g., centrifugal, absorption), pumps (specify types, e.g., centrifugal, positive displacement), motors (specify types, e.g., AC induction, DC servo), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Practical working knowledge of basic AC/DC circuits, digital logic circuits, and standard test procedures using appropriate tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
- Experience with HVAC refrigeration systems, including knowledge of refrigeration cycles, refrigerants, and related equipment, is a plus.
