We are currently seeking an Applications Lab Technician for our New Hudson, Michigan location. The successful candidate will work with Applications Engineers to develop solutions for customers joining needs, support prototype builds, set-up and maintain the latest technology SPR equipment, and provide the opportunity to be a presence in the lab that helps operations and testing run smoothly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:



  • Conduct joining trials and strength testing on customer supplied materials in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Document test details and results in formats that can be used by engineers in customer reports.
  • Install machinery in the lab and maintain equipment to a high working standard.
  • Enforce and coordinate safety policy within the lab.
  • Organize the lab and dispose of waste materials. Improve the organization of the lab including Lean 5S and visual management.
  • Communicate and work effectively with local Atlas Copco Henrob manufacturing, engineering, and applications individuals.
  • Perform verification checks for tool manufacturing in a timely fashion.
  • Receive incoming test material to the lab and help organize lab sample tracking system.
  • Keep lab stocked with essential supplies.
  • Periodic local business travel to support the above activities.
  • Work with minimal supervision on all the core tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent


  • Demonstrable basic computer skills with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate and maintain basic industrial power equipment.
  • Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for substantial portions of the workday
