Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist will work closely with the Production Manager to ensure product is shipped and received on time and processed into our inventory as accurately as possible while preserving traceability. Ensures product is packaged appropriately and shipped on time. The shipping and receiving position assist the division in maintaining on time performance, quality, and accurate inventory.This role is expected to adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.

Core Responsibilities



  • Review and update backlog report daily.
  • Packaging and processing of orders including labeling.
  • Shipments - Process of issuing packing lists, invoices, and other necessary documentation.
  • Assists in maintaining the cert file organized.
  • Manages Kan-Ban and held for release orders per established process.
  • Cycle counting and other inventory duties as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies.
  • Coordinate with freight carriers as needed.
  • Manages the NC location to ensure materials are properly identified and stock is rotated as needed.
  • Assist in keeping customer supplied material protected from damage or loss.
  • Assists the production manager and sales with expedite requests as needed
  • Inspects purchased parts and materials for conformity to set standards, may encompass a variety of techniques using inspection equipment.
  • Maintains neat and accurate records of receiving activities.
  • Stages material with orders at the correct workstation or places in inventory.
  • Pulls material from inventory as needed and stages it with the job traveler while ensuring accurate traceability is transferred and preserved.
  • Assists production manager in processing vendor and customer returns following established process.
  • Cycle counting and other inventory duties as needed.
  • Assists in keeping inventory area clean and organized and ensures lot# information is present and legible.
  • Other duties as needed.


Basic Qualifications



  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • 2-3 years of full-duty shipping, receiving and materials inspection experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education/experience.


Skills that will Make You Successful



  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Exposure to ISO certification and or knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to lift, balance and carry 40lbs on a regular basis
