THE POSITION

Are you an Information Technology (IT) professional looking for a new challenge? The Solutions Management Division within the Health and Human Services Delivery Center (HHSDC) is seeking an Applications Developer 2 to complete the team. The primary purpose of this position is to provide support and maintenance for Department of Health (DOH) Program Office client/server, CRM, and web-based applications. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position is assigned to the Solution Management Division (SMD), Department of Health QA-Custom Team, within the Health and Human Services Delivery Center (HHSDC). The incumbent in this position is responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, maintenance, documentation and management of complex client/server and web-based applications, developed independently or under the guidance of a Senior Applications Developer (SAD)/Applications Developer Admin(ADA).

An Applications Developer 2 is responsible for performing advanced technical client/server and Internet/intranet systems analysis, design and application development as assigned using:

  • Development Tools: Visual Studio 2017-2022, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Developer
  • Databases: SQL Server, Oracle, and MS Access
  • Reporting/ETL tools: SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SSIS, Crystal Reports
  • Additional tools, languages, and technologies: XML, SOAP, API, AJAX, VB.NET, C#, ADO.NET, Classic ASP, ASP.NET, CORE MVC, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS3 & HTML5, MS Access development
Our ideal candidate will have familiarity using Azure DevOps and SharePoint in addition to knowledge of code scanning and accessibility testing tools.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours will range from 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (candidate may decide schedule) Lunch period will be based on selected work schedule (30 minute/1 hour lunch) Monday - Friday.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. A minimum of one day per month in office is required. You will be expected to work from home (telework) for the reminder of your work schedule but may be required to come into the office more frequently. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Parking is located at the building and is free.
  • Salary: Selected candidates, who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary (before taxes) of $66,250.00

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Applications Developer 1 or Computer Programmer 3; or
  • Four years of information technology experience that includes two years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or
  • Two years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • A bachelor's degree in any information technology field.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
