Job Summary

Fishbeck is seeking a motivated Architectural Intern/Co-op to join our architectural department in our Grand Rapids, Michigan headquarters or Novi, MI office. This opportunity allows students to gain hands-on experience working on a variety of projects, including entertainment, municipal, and commercial developments. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and eager to work in a collaborative team environment.
Primary Functions


  • Project Support & Design Development:

    • Assist in the creation of design and presentation documents.
    • Develop building concepts and construction documents.
    • Conduct material and product research to support project development.


  • Collaboration & Teamwork:

    • Work in a team environment, collaborating with architects, engineers, and other professionals.
    • Participate in meetings and contribute creative solutions to design challenges.


  • Technical & Software Application:

    • Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and similar graphic software for design and documentation.
    • Apply architectural principles to real-world projects while maintaining attention to detail.


  • Professional Development:

    • Gain exposure to various aspects of architectural design and project execution.
    • Receive mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals to enhance technical and design skills.


  • Other Duties:

    • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor to support the architectural team.




Minimum Physical Requirements

Mobility to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, visual acuity to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Accommodation may be made for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation.
Desired Education

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Architecture degree program from an accredited university.
Desired Skills/Experience


  • Experience with Revit and SketchUp is preferred.
  • Strong design and presentation skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Enthusiastic and flexible, with the ability to work under deadlines.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and contribute in a team setting.
