POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Data Governance and Administration at the American Psychiatric Association (APA) plays a crucial role in driving APA's data strategy and optimizing our Salesforce platform to enhance operational efficiency and support the organization's mission. This position collaborates with various departments to translate business needs into effective technical solutions, ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of our CRM system. They will serve as one of APA's AMS/CRM experts and regularly liaise with internal staff and third-party vendors to ensure needed functionality, processes, and analytics are in place to support APA operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Salesforce Administration




  • Optimize our Salesforce environment while championing data governance and driving data analytics initiatives.





  • Manage data sets and processes for various programs in Salesforce/Fonteva, including data architecture, user management, security, flows, enterprise applications, and routine system audits.





  • Develop and manage automation processes using Flows and similar tools





  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and implement highly efficient cost-effective solutions within Salesforce.





  • Responsible for QA, testing, and implementation of new applications, software releases, upgrades, and patches for Fonteva, Salesforce, and other related software.





  • Manage third-party platform integrations and troubleshoot issues as needed.





  • Ensure compliance with Salesforce best practices and security protocols.





Data Governance




  • Develop and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity, compliance, and security.





  • Lead data quality initiatives, including validation, cleansing, and enrichment processes.





  • Establish and manage data stewardship practices across departments to promote accountability and consistency.





  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and other data privacy laws.





Data Analytics




  • Design, develop, and deploy dashboards and reports using Salesforce, Tableau, or other analytics tools to provide insights into organizational performance across APA programs.





  • Conduct data analysis to generate actionable insights that drive business performance and strategic decision-making.





  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify key metrics, KPIs, and reporting needs.





  • Automate data workflows, reporting, and data visualizations to improve efficiency and accuracy.




Training, Support, and Documentation




  • Provide engaging training and support to users, ensuring they can effectively utilize Salesforce features for their respective roles.





  • Create and maintain detailed documentation on all processes, policies, and application configuration.





  • Provide data governance training and awareness programs to promote a data-driven culture and adherence to governance standards.





Additional Responsibilities




  • Maintain and grow acumen on emerging trends, Salesforce, data architecture, data analytics, and new technology, and provide recommendations for process improvements to APA systems.

  • Support all internal team members and departments in accomplishing the Association's mission, vision, and goals.





  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS




  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years' database administration, preferably Salesforce, experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a nonprofit or association setting.





  • Salesforce Administrator certification is required; additional Salesforce certifications a plus





  • Experience with Tableau; Tableau certification preferred.





  • Experience with Fonteva preferred.





  • In-depth knowledge of data integrations best practices





  • Proficiency in Salesforce configuration, workflows, reports and dashboards, and data architecture.





  • Experience with software development life cycle, quality initiatives, information mapping methodologies, system integration and testing





  • Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques.





  • Critical thinker with exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.





  • Skill in utilizing business intelligence (BI) best practices and technologies to translate raw data to information that can be used for organizational decisions.





  • Demonstrated ability to document and communicate technical requirements and processes.





  • Experience leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.





  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects/tasks with limited supervision in a high-pressure environment.





  • Demonstrated project management skills to include establishing business requirements, timelines, and meeting deadlines.





  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement to ensure the integrity of the system.





  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
