Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Business Development Executive to join our team in San Jose, CA. As a Business Development Executive, you will: Contribute to the development and execution of sales strategies by creating and developing business plan, identifying new business opportunities, and closing deals with existing, target and new clients. Utilize knowledge of sales processes and methodologies to drive revenue growth and achieve financial sales targets.
Essential Functions
- Build and maintain client relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Conduct in-person client engagements: Articulates Haworth's value proposition through face-to-face (F2F) client engagements, delivering compelling presentations, and creating solutions with existing, target and new opportunities.
- Creates Value in Haworth-Dealer Relationship: Presents new business leads, strategizes with dealers on developing new business and leading with Haworth solutions.
- Identify and qualify leads: Proactively identify and qualify potential clients through networking, referrals, and market research to fill funnel.
- Manage a sales market/territory: Manage assigned sales market/territory, developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Negotiate and close deals: Ensures profitable agreements for Haworth and its dealers. Dependent on focus, will negotiate contracts and close deals with end-users, or support efforts to close deals through architecture + design (A+D) firms.
- Track sales activities and performance: Track sales activities, pipeline progress, and performance metrics using customer relationship management (CRM) system.
- Industry Awareness & Networking: Stays updated on economic, financial, social, and cultural news impacting the industry and customers. Networks within the market, attends events, and interacts with business leaders to identify trends, challenges, competitive landscape, and new business opportunities.
- Market Travel: Travels up to 80% of the time in assigned market to meet face-to-face with clients, influencers, and dealers.
- Must be able to perform all essential job function with/without accommodation.
- Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business, sales, architecture, industrial design, interior design, marketingor equivalent.
- Education Equivalency:
- Associate's degree plus 2 years related experience or,
- High school diploma plus 4 years related experience.
Work Experience:
- 2 years experience in consultative B2B, solution-based sales role with demonstrated track of generating revenue and meeting sales targets with Bachelor's Degree.

- Ability to work in the Bay Area without relocation assistance.

Preferred Qualifications
- Lead Generation & Networking: Relationship, cold calling, and networking building skills to develop leads and new business opportunities and keep abreast of industry-related trends.
- Sales & Planning Expertise: Business and sales acumen skills, sales planning skills (e.g., research and strategic analysis, and cost-benefit analysis).
- Contract office furniture or commercial interiors experience preferred.
- State and Local contract experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Haworth offers a competitive total rewards package including base salary determined based on the role, experience, skill set, and location. For those in eligible roles, sales incentive bonuses may be awarded in recognition of individual achievements and contributions.
