Lead Systems Engineer (TH)
Contingent upon prime contractor approval
Purpose:


  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Lead Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL. In this role you will get to provide coordinated communications integration support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Chief Engineer and United Arab Emirates (UAE) THAAD Engineering Lead.


Job Description:


  • Provide systems and interoperability engineering, analysis, and technical guidance regarding the THAAD weapon system with international partners.
  • Assist Engineering Lead with managing the technical aspects of all assigned force design work.
  • Assist with international Tactical Data Link Architecture and attend data link conferences.
  • Collaborate and coordinate on force design technical efforts with multiple external agencies and stakeholders.
  • Identify deficiencies and shortcomings in planned or ongoing design reviews and provide options for fixing them.
  • Document and communicate interim and final technical findings and results in a clear manner that is understandable to senior-level decision makers.
  • Actively participate in regular and ad hoc force design meetings and technical exchanges.


. Qualifications


  • Must have a MS degree in STEM and 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project.
  • Must have technical understanding and experience with missile defense or radar systems.
  • Must develop and present reports and presentations to senior management-level personnel.
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal skills required.
  • Must have experience with DoD terrestrial and satellite communication systems (MILSATCOM).
  • Must have the ability to work independently and/or lead teams to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Must have familiarity with Missile Defense Agency, Ballistic Missile Defense System, and/or THAAD Program Office work efforts.
  • Must be proficient in system engineering and execution processes.
  • Must have prior experience with Tactical data links (TDL J, Link 11, Link 16) systems, encryption systems, precision timing systems (PNT), and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).


Desired Qualifications


  • Military experience with Air Defense Artillery, Theater High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), and/or Common Data Link Interface-Module (CDLI-M), preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, preferred.
  • Experience working within a collaborative environment composed of Government, prime contractor, sub-contractor and supporting contractor personnel in a badge-less contractor environment, preferred.
  • Self-starter with enthusiasm and capacity to learn in a fast-paced environment, preferred.
  • Prior experience within Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs, preferred.


Security Requirements:


  • Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance


Travel Requirements:


  • Up to 20%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to work in an office environment.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another, communicating with others to exchange information, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
