Brief Description

The purpose of this position is to manage the recruiting and hiring processes and by identifying, attracting and hiring top talent for the Brazos River Authority (BRA). This is accomplished by maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of employee information, developing and actively managing a recruitment and applicant management program designed to entice a qualified and diverse applicant pool; coordinating with hiring managers to determine appropriate staffing needs; assisting applicants and hiring managers utilize the applicant management system; coordinating pre-employment activities; performing new hire orientations; and updating and assisting with maintaining job descriptions. Other responsibilities include fostering beneficial employee relations' activities; preparing reports and responding to inquiries; backing up benefit functions; interacting with other employees and the public; maintaining knowledge of legal requirements and best practices; ensuring compliance of policies and procedures; and any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



  • A minimum two years' Human Resources-related experience
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and Good Driving Record
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook


Preferred:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification


  • Associates Degree (in related field) - Completed course requirements to receive an Associates Degree

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $69,846 and $90,800 annual salary. This is an exempt position.

BRAZOS RIVER AUTHORITY, EOE: The BRA was created by the Texas Legislature in 1929 and exists to develop, manage, and protect the water resources of the Brazos River Basin. Today, BRA's staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs.
