Responsibilities:

* Lead projects from beginning to end ensuring timely delivery and alignment with quality standards.

* Be responsible for the development and maintenance of applications using Mainframe COBOL JCL and DB2.

Provide technical mentorship and support to team members encouraging a collaborative and productive work environment.

Ensure the efficient management of IT services aligning with accepted methodologies in IT Service Management.

Collaborate with multi-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

* Develop and implement strategies to optimize system performance and reliability.

* Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.

* Monitor system performance and implement vital improvements to enhance efficiency.

* Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies incorporating relevant advancements into the teams workflow.

Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to collaborators ensuring clear communication of project status and outcomes.

* Facilitate training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities to enhance the technical skills of team members.

* Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements in all technical activities.

* Supply to the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies within the team.

Required Qualifications

*Show extensive experience in IT Service Management with a solid grasp of practices and methodologies.

* Have a deep knowledge of JCL DB2 and COBOL with a proven track record of successful application development and maintenance.

* Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve sophisticated technical issues.

* Demonstrate strong leadership and team management abilities fostering a positive and productive work environment.

* Show proficiency in conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to team members.

Show attention to detail to maintain high-quality work and meet project deadlines.

* Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

* Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies incorporating relevant advancements into the teams workflow.

* Exhibit a proactive approach to continuous improvement supplying to the enhancement of processes and methodologies within the team.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for the position is between $55,350- $82,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
