Who we are looking for


Purpose

Chiesi USA, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Operations Analyst with a strong background in Data Governance and system administration to join our Business Excellence Operations team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial part in implementing and maintaining robust data governance frameworks, managing data quality, to identify trends and inefficiencies, and supporting cross-functional collaboration to enable data-driven decision making.The position will work a hybrid model out of our Cary, NC office.

Main Responsibilities

  • Data Governance:

    • Assist in the implementation of data governance frameworks, including metadata management, data lineage tracking, and data stewardship efforts.
    • Work closely with Data Governance teams to ensure adherence to data policies and compliance requirements


  • Data Quality Management:

    • Conduct data audits to identify and resolve data quality issues within operational systems, if possible, and/or to provide business rules for transformations
    • Develop and implement data quality checks and validation procedures to maintain data integrity.
    • Monitor data pipelines for inconsistencies and errors, taking corrective actions when necessary.


  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Extract and analyze operational data to identify trends, patterns, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPI) for various systems benefiting our Data Governance efforts.
    • Collaborate with vendor to develop operational reports/dashboards to visualize key insights and communicate findings to stakeholders across the organization
    • Create ad-hoc analyses to address specific business questions and support decision-making.


  • Data Pipeline Management:

    • Document and monitor data pipelines to ensure SLAs are maintained
    • Collaborate with data engineers to implement data integration solutions and ensure data consistency across systems.


  • System Administration and Maintenance:

    • Manage data management systems and tools, including data quality monitoring platforms and data visualization software.
    • Maintain data catalog, dictionaries, and documentation to ensure accurate data interpretation and usage.
    • Stay updated on emerging data technologies and best practices to continuously improve data operations.


  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with IT, Business Excellence, and other internal stakeholders to understand their data needs and support data-driven decision-making
    • Collaborate with data scientists to develop advanced analytics models and leverage machine learning techniques for data-driven decision making


  • Ad Hoc Analysis:

    • Responsible ad hoc analytic projects based on the requests from internal stakeholders
    • Identifying opportunities for increased efficiencies across domains and processes



Experience Required

Required Qualifications:



  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business systems analysis and data operations, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in system administration, database management, and business intelligence tools. Understanding of data warehousing / data lakehouse concepts and tools like Snowflake, Databricks, or Azure Data Warehouse. Ability to use BI tools to convey insights through visualizations. Programming capability using Python and R for analysis
  • Critical Thinking: Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
  • Analytical Thinking: Breaks down raw information and undefined problems into specific, workable components that in-turn clearly identifies the issues at hand. Makes logical conclusions, anticipates obstacles, and considers different approaches to the decision-making process
  • Statistical Analysis: Understanding of basic statistical concepts to interpret data accurately
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing projects and working in cross-functional teams.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR, etc.)
  • Attention to detail: Is thorough when performing work; conscientious about attending to detail; few errors in work performed; uses logical thinking that is well organized and methodical.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with Veeva CRM or Veeva Vault CRM, Marketing Automation platforms, Customer Data Platforms (CDP), Data Lakehouse architectures, Qualtrics.
  • Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from databases.
  • Working knowledge of Python and R for data analysis
  • Experience with visualization platforms and conveying analytics insights
  • Certification in relevant technologies or methodologies (e.g., CRM, MDM, Data Governance, PMP, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, etc.).

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Data Management, or a related field.
