UCB is seeking to hire an exceptional Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Analyst who will conduct analyses of real-world data sources such as administrative claims data, electronic health record data and others to support the evidence generation strategy for UCB's Epilepsy & Rare Syndromes team and the needs of the broader U.S. Medical team. The HEOR Analyst will support the HEOR Lead, Medical Outcomes Liaisons, and the U.S. Medical leadership team in developing research protocols, conducting data analyses, coordinating with external vendors, and creating reports, presentations, abstracts and manuscripts based on research findings. This position is a hybrid role to be based out of our US Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.
Note: This will not be a remote position.
Salary Range: $104,800 to $137,600
Major Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
- Conduct health economics and outcomes research to support various evidence generation projects
- Analyze real-world data sources such as healthcare claims data and electronic health record data using SQL and Python/R/SAS
- Conduct literature reviews to support HEOR projects
- Develop and maintain databases and data management processes
- Participate in and conduct code reviews with teams the role is supporting and beyond at time, as well as prepare reports and effectively and impactfully represent research findings
- Work with cross-functional partners (listed above) to determine evidence needs and communicate relevant data
Required Education, Skills & Experience:
- Master's Degree (PhD preferred) in Public Health, Health Economics, Health Services Research, Epidemiology or another relevant quantitative discipline with 2+ years' experience working in a data analytics role for a pharmaceutical company, payer, or any other US healthcare system stakeholder.
- Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline with 5+ years' experience working in a data analytics role for a pharmaceutical company, payer, or any other US healthcare system stakeholder.
- High level of proficiency in SQL, Python/R/SAS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently conduct analyses of healthcare claims data and other real world data sources.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and integrity.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Experience conducting scoping, rapid, and systematic literature reviews
- Experience working on peer-reviewed abstracts/publications
- Familiarity with health economics and outcomes research methodologies
- Knowledge of machine learning and natural language processing methodologies
- Experience conducting qualitative data analyses as well as Snowflake and Databricks
