Department Summary

The Trail Ready Summer Bridge Program offers admitted student the opportunity to engage in major-based learning communities as well as TSI-preparation boot camps the summer before first fall semester at UNT Dallas. Students enrolled in the programs can earn college credit or become TSI-complete free-of-charge. Trail Ready works closely with faculty from the academic departments to offer experiences that will support student success.

Position Overview

The Faculty Project Coordinator will serve to administer the Academic Summer Bridge program under the supervision of the Office of the Provost. This employee will have the rank of Lecturer, teach boot camps as a part of the Summer Bridge program during the summer, and teach three courses each fall and spring semester in the Department of Mathematics. In addition, the employee will develop and assess the curriculum for mathematics developmental education.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Ph.D. in mathematics or other closely related field from a regionally accredited university
  • Extensive experience teaching in math developmental education.
  • Experience with academic summer bridge programs
  • Documented experience in planning and organizing student programs
  • Academic experience working with a culturally diverse population

  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.

Job Duties:



  • Coordinate and teach Trail Ready boot camp sessions for students who have not met completion of math college-readiness requirements set forth by the Texas Success Initiative.
  • Assist in program administrative duties such as recruiting full-time-in-college students who are TSI-liable to attend and complete the college-readiness boot camp program and program assessment and reporting.
  • Serve on the Development Education Committee and collaborate with campus stakeholders to support the success of developmental education students.
  • Teach 18 hours of developmental education mathematics and co-requisite math courses as assigned as a Lecturer in the Mathematics Department during the academic year.
  • Serve as a coordinator for developmental education curriculum and faculty development in the Department of Mathematics.
