Position: Hearing Coordination Center Audiologist

Location: Pleasanton, CA (Remote)

Salary Range: $85,000 to $120,000

Natus Sensory, Inc. is looking for a Hearing Coordination Center Audiologist!

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides tracking and monitoring for infants reported to the Hearing Coordination Center (HCC). Works with HCC staff to ensure infants receive appropriate and timely services. Serves as liaison and provides consultation for inpatient providers, outpatient providers, diagnostic providers, Local Education Agencies, California Children's Services, and Managed Care Plan offices. Assists the Program Director in oversight of providers' education, performance, and remediation including Data Management System (DMS) issues and follow-up. Participates in certification and recertification activities for inpatient hospital programs. Provides Audiology technical consultation to State Departments of Health on an as-needed basis in conjunction with the Northern California HCC Program Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for consultation and technical assistance to inpatient, outpatient, and diagnostic providers.
  2. Works with Program Director and HCC staff to ensure infants and families receive appropriate screening, diagnostic, and follow-up services.
  3. Provides quality assurance and program evaluation to HCC and providers.
  4. Provides support and resource information to families with newly identified deaf and hard of hearing infants.
  5. Performs certification and recertification activities including onsite evaluations with inpatient providers.
  6. Consults with hospitals in program development and in development and updating of policies and procedures.
  7. Assists the Program Director in monitoring hospital performance and in education and remediation of hospitals that are found to be out of compliance with state standards.
  8. Responsible for tracking and monitoring activities and timely delivery of services as defined in the Scope of Work and required by DHCS.
  9. Assists the Program Director in the completion of state contract deliverables, including certification and recertification paperwork and the Quarterly Report of program activities.
  10. Tracks screening status of infants transferred from facility to facility.
  11. Provides Audiology technical consultation to State Departments of Health on an as-needed basis in conjunction with the Northern California HCC Program Manager.
  12. Consults with county and state Early Intervention, CCS, and Managed Care programs.
  13. Participates in Semi-Annual meetings with certified inpatient providers and assists in development of meeting content and logistics.
  14. Participates in educational activities with outpatient, diagnostic, Early Start, and other community stakeholders and assists in development of meeting content and logistics.
  15. Participates in meetings and conference calls with HCC and DHCS as requested.
  16. Communicates in a timely manner to address questions and in entering, transcribing, recording, and maintaining Protected Health Information (PHI).
  17. Collects information and reports from any stakeholder concerns for purposes of possible process improvements and quality assurance.
  18. Supports all program resources to ensure data management service systems are consistently functioning.
  19. Works with all providers to ensure accurate reporting processes and works directly with inpatient providers in ongoing DMS training, education, and access.
  20. Works with inpatient providers to correct DMS errors and troubleshoots solutions in conjunction with other HCC and Neometrics staff.
  21. Complies with Neometrics Policies and Procedures to support State and Federal Regulations.
  22. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Current California license to practice Audiology.
  • CCS paneling or eligibility for CCS paneling, minimum two years experience working with children less than three years of age.
  • Master's Degree or Clinical Doctorate (AuD) in Audiology from a certified graduate program.
  • Experience in newborn hearing screening and/or pediatric audiology is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with families, providers, and other stakeholders to effectively administer the program's goals and objectives.
  • Ability to work with providers, and HCC Staff, and communicate software defects to correct defects and refine workflows.
