The Workday Government Portfolio Director will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the Workday solution on multiple concurrent Delivery Portfolio engagements. The Portfolio Director will serve in an advisory role, on Workday support engagements and deployments. The Portfolio Director may be asked to serve as the Delivery Executive for a portfolio of engagements with Government clients. This role will ensure success by driving the client implementation (directly or indirectly), will be involved in the development, review, and approval of several key project deliverables (e.g., charter, project/staffing plan, issue logs, etc.) and work with the Client project manager and Cognizant Engagement Manager to resolve issues that stand in the way of project success. They will also be responsible for managing to the approved budget and delivering the projects and on-going support contracts profitably. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Delivery Executive for a portfolio of Workday deploymentsfor Government clients
- Ensure projects and on-going support contracts in his/her portfolio are properly planned and staffed.
- Track issues and risks communicate status and escalate concerns applicable for all clients in his/her portfolio.
- Interface with Workday regional leadership regarding account and project status within assigned portfolio.
- Provide leadership within the portfolio to help drive business development and the achievement of bookings numbers.
- Consistently review and prioritize business development goals and objectives by reviewing the SFDC pipeline with sales leadership.
- Provide guidance to Sales Directors and Sales Managers on scope, approach, and estimates.
- Prepare and review SOWs.
- Ensure the portfolio of on-going support contracts and projects are delivered within the budget outlined in the SOW.
- Represent Cognizant at Executive Steering Committee meetings.
- Become an expert in CynergyTM Implementation Methodology and use it on all engagements; ensure the methodology is deployed consistently across all engagements in his/her portfolio.
- Demonstrate good understanding of the Workday product suite - HCM, Payroll, and/or Financials.
- Participate in the sales cycle when requested to gather requirements, formulate delivery approach, deal reviews, present at orals and developing a proposal/SOW.
- Identify opportunities to position other service offerings.
- Lead internal process improvement or "build the business" initiatives.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Information Systems, or related field.
- Successful candidates have a balance of business and sales skills as well as functional (business) and technical experience.
- Progressive business management experience including project management, managing a P&L, budgeting, and reporting.
- Consulting experience with a consulting/software company.
- 10+ years of experience as a Project Management with HCM, payroll or financial implementations for larger complex organizations.
- Working knowledge with at least two of the following business areas: Human
- Resources, Benefits, Payroll, General Ledger or Accounts Payable/Receivable.
- Experience implementing or overseeing implementations of Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft or similar application.
- Be a self-starter and can function well independently or part of a team.
- Outstanding communication skillswritten, verbal, presentation, and executive interaction.
- Excellent organization and time management.
Salary and Other Compensation Applications will be accepted until 05/21/2025 The annual salary for this position is between $198,097 - $250,535 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program , based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
