The Technical Operations Manager for the Innovation Team will play a pivotal role in optimizing the team's financial operations, budget oversight, billing management, and tracking of actuals. This position is integral to ensuring operational efficiency, financial accuracy, and fostering seamless collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial management, operational processes, and team leadership to help drive the Innovation Team's success and achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and management of the annual budget, ensuring it aligns with both the innovation team's objectives and the broader organizational goals.
- Oversee all billing processes, including invoice creation, tracking, and reconciliation, ensuring accurate and timely collaboration with the finance team.
- Monitor actual spending against forecasted expenses, identify variances, and provide actionable insights for continuous budget optimization.
- Prepare and present clear, concise financial reports and updates to leadership, ensuring transparency and data-driven decision-making.
- Define, implement, and optimize processes and procedures to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and support innovation initiatives across the team.
- Set clear objectives and KPIs for programs and initiatives, regularly communicating progress and results to business stakeholders.
- Track and report on key performance metrics related to team performance, project outcomes, and resource allocation, ensuring accountability and transparency.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects and programs, managing interdependencies and delivering on commitments.
- Facilitate effective communication within the Innovation Team, addressing operational challenges and driving continuous improvement.
- Provide hands-on operational support to project managers, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and initiatives are adequately supported.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations and documentation for leadership meetings and external stakeholders, ensuring that key information is communicated clearly and effectively.
- Manage all contractors and interns in RTP and Frisco, ensuring their projects align with company objectives while maintaining high performance and efficiency. Provide guidance, support, and oversight to optimize productivity, foster innovation, and ensure seamless integration within the broader team.
Qualifications
& Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of functional experience, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of leadership experience in a cross-functional environment, with a proven track record of managing multiple teams and initiatives.
- Extensive project management expertise, with a strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with broader goals.
- Solid technical understanding and proficiency in software, with the ability to leverage technology to drive operational improvements.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions, regions, and teams in a complex, matrixed environment.
