Job Title: Senior Staff Member - Energetics Business Development (Navy & MILDEPS)

Location: Indian Head, NCR, with remote work options available

Position Type: Full-Time, Senior Role

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Staff Member with extensive experience in Energetics, specializing in business development and interfacing with the U.S. Navy and other Military Departments (MILDEPS). This individual will be a highly skilled expert in Energetics wargaming, operational analysis, and energetic materials systems concepts. They will also provide leadership in process improvement initiatives and organizational restructuring related to Energetics. This is an opportunity to contribute to high-impact defense and military-focused projects while leveraging your deep expertise in Energetics and related fields.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Stakeholder Engagement: Interface directly with the U.S. Navy and other MILDEPS to foster business development opportunities in Energetics, including proposals, strategic initiatives, and long-term partnership planning. Experience with NATO and Foreign Material Sales (FMS).
  • Energetics Wargaming & Operational Analysis: Lead and conduct advanced Energetics wargaming sessions and operational analyses to evaluate system performance, effectiveness, and improvements across various military scenarios and operations.
  • Energetic Materials Systems Concept of Operations: Drive the creation and optimization of Energetic materials systems, developing comprehensive concepts of operations (CONOPS) that meet the evolving needs of defense systems.
  • Energetic Operations Analyses & Studies: Oversee the design and execution of energetic operations analyses and specialized studies, providing critical insights to inform military decision-making and operational planning.
  • Process Improvement & Efficiency: Identify and implement process improvements within Energetics systems, focusing on increasing operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability in testing, manufacturing, and deployment.
  • Organizational Restructuring: Contribute to the restructuring of Energetics-related organizations, improving alignment with strategic goals, operational efficiency, and resource optimization.



Qualifications:

  • Required:

    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Energetics, defense contracting, or related technical fields.
    • Master's degree or higher in Operations Research (OR), Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (MECH), Electrical Engineering (ELEC), or other relevant engineering disciplines.
    • Proven experience in Energetics wargaming, operational analysis, and energetic material systems.
    • Deep understanding of Energetics Process Improvement and Organizational Restructuring within the context of defense and military applications.
    • Ability to interface effectively with Navy and MILDEPS personnel, including senior leadership, to drive business development and technical initiatives.


  • Desired:

    • Former military experience, particularly within Navy or other military branches related to Energetics and munitions.
    • Experience in explosives/munitions testing with a solid understanding of Energetics testing protocols, standards, and procedures.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage interdisciplinary teams and collaborate effectively with external stakeholders.
    • Paper publications in Operations Analysis fields/topics.
    • Security clearance is preferred (or the ability to obtain one).





Work Environment:

  • This position will primarily be located at Indian Head, in the National Capital Region (NCR), with flexibility for some remote work. Occasional travel to military and defense sites may be required.
