Job Overview

The Senior Director, Advertising & Brand Identity Creative will be the key creative leader for the Macy's brand, as well as our stellar collection of Private Label brands, and the ways in which Macy's show up across marketing platforms and consumer touchpoints. They will be stewards of our brand voice and brand expression, as well as the visual direction for Macy's, inclusive of copywriting, copy editing, motion and graphic design, broadcast video, radio, and out-of-home.

What You Will Do

The Senior Director, Advertising & Brand Identity Creative will work with internal teams and external agencies and partners to develop unique brand campaign platforms and exceptional creative ideas. They'll oversee shoot productions all the way through post.

They'll partner with internal stakeholders and teams including Merchants, Digital, Media, Social, and Store Visual to ensure cohesive brand expression across all customer touchpoints. They'll think strategically about how to turn business challenges into breakthrough concepts and executions. They'll partner with other companies on co-branded initiatives, as well as our Parade Studio to ensure that all of our brand touchpoints are aligned with our brand expression.

Skills You Will Need

  • Experienced team leader, who can both inspire great creative work, and manage a team of creatives with empathy and rigor.
  • Demonstrated expertise in high-concept brand creative, a track record of creating award-winning and effective work on behalf of other brands or properties, and excellent strategic instincts.
  • Adept at coming up with compelling campaign ideas and insight-based conceptual approaches.
  • They'll be experts at turning data and research into buzzy and engaging marketing creative.
  • Ability to synthesize business data and goals into insightful, actionable creative direction, and then to manage other creatives through the ideation and execution process, resulting in work that has a meaningful and measurable impact on long-term success.

Who You Are

  • At least 15 years of experience in creative and/or design at agencies or brands with at least 10 years leading/managing a creative team; retail experience preferred but not required.
  • An excellent storyteller with demonstrated agility at conceptualizing and executing for multiple platforms and touchpoints.
  • Must have a reel and/or portfolio of previous work.
  • Highly curious and endlessly adaptable.
  • Strong interest in fashion and retail.
  • Dedicated to fulfilling ideals of diversity, inclusion, and respect that Macy's aspires to achieve every day in every way.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
