Add to favorites Favorited View favorites Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $48,600 - Midpoint: $60,800 (Salaried E7) Department/Organization: 401101 - VP Community Affairs Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm Job Summary: The Accountant I prepares, reconciles, and audits budgets under general supervision. Prepares financial reports, invoices, schedules, and/or statements. Completes journal entries. Reviews, analyzes, and approves expenditures. Determines fund balances. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, University policies, and procedures. Additional Department Summary: Performs various aspects of accounting and budgeting for the Division of Community Affairs to include payables (MDVs, DTAs, P-Card purchases and reconciliations), receivables (deposits and invoicing), journal entries, budget preparations, budget changes, and financial reporting. Provides support for externally funded grants and seed funding awards. Prepares personnel action forms (and various HR paperwork), scholarship appointments (liaison with scholarship office), and assists with undergraduate hiring and graduate assistant appointments. Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related financial field. Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic setting and in an environment of constant growth and change. Ability to analyze and interpret complex data. Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports. Ability to monitor and adhere to quality control standards. Ability to work at a rapid pace with numerous interruptions. Ability to demonstrate tact, versatility, and adaptability. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and directional initiative. Preferred Qualifications: Proven education and experience with various database systems, mining, reporting, and developing dashboards. Experience in a higher education setting.
