DIVISION:

U.S. Energy POSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for complex accounting and analytical tasks. This position will be responsible for maintaining account reconciliations, various month end close activities, and ensuring GAAP compliance to support our commodity trading, supply and marketing functions. This position will be involved with accounting, audits, financial analysis, and other projects. These responsibilities will require proficient knowledge in Excel and data manipulation, strong operational troubleshooting skills, and an ability to understand and enhance processes and procedures. This role requires 4+ years of experience and aims to develop moderate to high levels of business acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.

This position can be located at our office in Appleton, WI or Houston, TX. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for month end close including multiple, higher risk general ledger entries and account reconciliations

  • Perform detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

  • Participate in strategic planning activities, offering insights and recommendations.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Prepare audit documentation and respond to audit inquiries.

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records.

  • Understands internal controls for assigned area and executes assigned controls

  • Utilize project and change management experience to facilitate and direct modifications to the

    accounting function's processes and test related changes

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of both fundamental and complex concepts, practices, and procedures of accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and strategic thinking.

Preferred:

  • Additional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA).
