Longer shifts available on Fridays, and weekends. HIRING RANGE: $18.00 - $23.00/hour (depending on qualifications) LOCATION: Multiple Dakota County Park Facilities: Dakota Lodge, West St. Paul. Schaar's Bluff Gathering Center and Camp Spring Lake Park, Hastings. Camp Sacajawea and Lebanon Hills Visitor Center, Eagan. What You'll Do The Dakota County Parks Department is currently recruiting to fill a Temporary Lead Facility-Event Attendant position for the upcoming fall and winter season. The purpose of the Lead Facility Attendant position is to provide outstanding customer service for the Dakota County Parks, specifically to work with the Parks Team and facility rental guests to ensure a seamless, positive experience. Lead Facility Attendants work alongside our team of Temporary Facility Attendants providing similar duties and offering work direction. Additionally, this position is responsible for administrative and logistical facility support.
The Facility Attendant Team is responsible for providing high quality customer service and onsite facility support to park guests and large groups reserving facilities. This position plays an important leadership role within the Facility Attendant team by supporting rentals and other staff in operating rental events such as wedding, celebrations, family gatherings, and meetings. Schedule is flexible and shifts range from short check in/out shifts to full/partial days. Shorter shifts Monday-Friday including mornings, mid-day, and evenings. Longer shifts available on Fridays, and weekends. Check in/out shifts role is to welcome rental groups to park spaces and make sure they are set up for a successful stay. Longer shifts happen predominantly on weekends when Facility Attendants staff event buildings. Additional projects and administrative tasks are part of the Lead Facility Attendant's work, these hours will be flexible, yet time bound to support high-quality operations. Minimum Qualifications
-
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- 1 year of customer service experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE BEYOND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous work experience leading or supervising others.
- Previous work experience in a parks or recreation setting.
- Experience coordinating and/or staffing events, or event set up and take down
- Ability to work in a fast passed environment and make rapid decisions.
- Great communication skills and ability to give/receive feedback.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Provide high-level customer service to ensure visitors receive accurate and appropriate information in a welcoming and timely manner.
- Staff Dakota County Park rental facilities as a shift lead. Assist customers (rental customers and general public) and provide support to other facility staff. Ensure rental space and equipment is maintained in good working order.
- Provide lead work direction as a shift lead and in the absence of the Park Operations Coordinator, including evenings and weekends.
- Assist with administrative and logistical tasks for scheduling and facility management.
- Greet and interact with customers at assigned locations and facilities. Efficiently facilitate rental reservations.
- Initiate direct contact with clients and customers to ensure positive experiences and troubleshoot and address challenges in a pro-active, service-oriented manner.
- Operate and provide an onsite presence for weddings, family gatherings, meetings, and other rentals at park rental facilities.
- Lead facility tours and manage facility equipment inventory.
- Carry, move, organize, and/or set-up County facility equipment, such as: banquet tables, chairs, picnic tables, or similar equipment.
- Use computerized software and Microsoft Office applications and County AV equipment.
- Assist Park Operations Coordinator in the training and support of Temporary Park Attendant team.
- Assist with special projects and perform other duties as apparent or assigned.

Work Environment
Work is performed inside and outside County buildings. The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of walking, standing, crouching, or riding over rough, uneven, swampy, or rocky terrain. Staff must also have the physical ability to bend, twist, crouch, lift, forward & overhead reach, and push/pull the rental & facility equipment, such as: banquet tables, chairs, picnic tables, or similar equipment which may weigh up to 50 lbs. This position may involve driving a County vehicle. There may also be intermittent exposure to varied weather conditions on the worksite that occasionally necessitates the use of rain gear, gloves, etc.
