JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Continuous Improvement Engineer

LOCATION: Chatsworth, CA

SHIFT: Monday - Thursday (6:15am to 4:45pm)

JOB SUMMARY: The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity across operations. This role co-leads projects to optimize and balance inefficient processes by analyzing manufacturing practices through data-driven reporting and visual analysis. Leveraging OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and Lean efficiency insights, the Continuous Improvement Engineer drives process improvements, recommends and implements equipment modifications or strategic replacements, and enhances workflows to improve overall operational effectiveness. Using Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies, this role fosters a culture of operational excellence and sustainable cost reductions.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:



  • Analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
  • Lead and support Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement projects across departments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement best practices.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to assess performance metrics and identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Train employees on continuous improvement principles, fostering a culture of operational excellence.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of process improvements and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to enhance product and service quality.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to strategic business objectives.
  • Maintain documentation and reports on process changes, project outcomes, and key performance indicators (KPIs).



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in process improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related areas.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Experience with process mapping, statistical analysis, and root cause analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with ERP and process automation tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • English proficiency. Bilingual in Spanish would be preferred.
