Position Highlights This position supports UAGC (University of Arizona Global Campus). The role focuses on designing, building, delivering, and maintaining technology solutions that enhance research, learning, and operational effectiveness. It involves providing expertise in technology strategy, architecture, and policies, while ensuring the deployment and maintenance of the University's applications, systems, and hardware infrastructure for secure and seamless end-user services.

Responsibilities include developing and modifying computer programs and applications tailored to the University's specific needs. A key aspect of the role is deploying product updates, identifying and resolving production issues, and implementing customer-centric integrations.

Additionally, duties include defining and refining deployment processes, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with developers and database administrators to deploy and manage code changes. The role also requires close cooperation with operations teams to ensure the reliability and smooth functioning of systems.

This is a remote position from within Arizona. Applicants residing outside of Arizona cannot be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Implement and support customer-requested integrations; develop solutions integrating with internal back-end systems.
  • Deploy updates, fixes, and resolve technical issues, including root cause analysis; document processes for troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical workflows.
  • Serve as a program liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create scripts for automated pipeline deployments.
  • Promote continuous improvements in the software development lifecycle.
  • Manage version control, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous delivery workflows.
  • Provide off-hours and on-call coverage for systems and services.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in specific areas. Build job monitoring to minimize errors and enhance customer experience.
  • Build and maintain AWS infrastructure and associated tools. Deliver training and provide input on process improvements.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on departmental programs and workflows.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of CI/CD, Version control, Git (GitHub, Bitbucket), Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Ability to establish and foster productive relationships with other departments.
  • Strong focus on improving customer experience.
  • Proficient at provisioning, automated configuration management, and containerization solutions.
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
  • Working knowledge of C# and .Net.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in cloud-based hosting solutions (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience in Agile methodology, especially scrum.
  • Experience in scripting automated tests for deployments.
