Summary / Role Purpose

Join the Ansys Student Internship Program to apply your education to solve real world engineering problems, advance career skills and experience work at Ansys. You will be part of the Ansys OnScale Simulation API team where you will help create a programming interface for our simulation platform to define and deploy simulations on the cloud. You will have the opportunity apply your Python programming skills while working with multiple solvers including Ansys flagship simulation programs and interacting with Ansys global leaders. The internship will run for 3 months during the Summer.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• 
  

  Create new solver interface features using Python

  
  
• 
  

  Help integrate new internal or 3rd party solvers onto the platform

  
  
• 
  

  Create or update features in our cloud simulation SDK

  
  
• 
  

  Fix bugs or implement enhancements in existing features

  
  
• 
  

  Create unit and integration tests and participate in testing of new features

  
  
• 
  

  Update technical documentation

  
  
• 
  

  Coordinate with Front-End, Cloud Dev-Ops, Customer Success and Solver Development teams

  
  

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

• 
  

  Required Education and Degree Type: In final year of BS program or progressing toward a Masters degree in Engineering, Physics or Computer Science.

  Experience with Python programming in Scientific or Engineering applications

  
  
• 
  

  Basic knowledge of programming data structures and algorithms

  
  

• 
  

  Ability to learn quickly, understand complex systems and to work closely with others

  
  

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  Experience with one or more of the following would be a plus

    Engineering simulation tools

    
    
  • 
    

    Rust programming

    Cloud computing tools, processes, or applications

  Familiarity with our product OnScale Solve (recently renamed Ansys Insight), which can be achieved by creating a free account on onscale.com and running a couple of simulations
