Strategic Planning & Analytics Internship

POSITION OBJECTIVES
To support the Strategic Planning and Analytics department to ensure tasks are completed as needed. To provide support to internal customers as needed. To work on projects as directed that may include data and analytical information and strategic planning process work.

Position requirements

EDUCATION: Must be enrolled in an accredited school, pursuing either an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in business analytics, engineering, accounting, finance, or related field.

EXPERIENCE: Experience with computer systems and software applications similar to those at Jackson EMC is preferred. Prefer interest in data analytics and visualization, technical communication, strategic planning, or project management.

KNOWLEDGE: Must possess a solid basic working knowledge of computer systems and may include, statistical and quantitative analysis, benchmarking, metrics and measures, process improvement techniques, and strategic planning principles.

SKILLS: Must have effective communication skills, both written and oral, problem solving and organization skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Must have the ability to accomplish the following: data entry and analysis, report generation, proofing, and ability to follow instructions/directions.

II. RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Director of Strategic Planning and Analytics
Directs: None

Internal: Shall foster the development of those supportive relationships essential to the fulfilling of the functions of this position, achieving the results expected and encouraging throughout the organization the concepts of teamwork and cooperative spirit.

External: Shall maintain supportive relationships with member consumers, the general public and other contacts to assure that satisfactory results are achieved.

Physical activity of the position: Hearing, talking, repetitive motions.

Physical requirements: Sedentary work.

Visual Acuity: Machine operator (including inspections).

Conditions: Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

V. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

To fulfill the objectives of the position the employee so designated shall have full and complete authority to carry out the responsibilities assigned to this position, making all decisions necessary within the limits of approved budgets, policies, and system practices.

Essential functions of the job:
1. Support the strategic Planning & Analytics department as needed.
2. Assist in organizing, updating, and generating reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
3. Work with Business Intelligence Analyst to import and update data into corporate and departmental dashboards.
4. Assist Business Intelligence Analyst in gathering data as instructed.
5. Work with Strategic Planning Analyst to update existing resources and develop new resources for strategic planning.
6. Work with Strategic Planning Analyst and Business Intelligence Analyst to develop communication articles and presentations.
7. Participate in special projects as instructed.
8. Provide necessary assistance to internal customers.
9. Be familiar with and follow the best safety practices set forth in the Cooperative's
Safety Manual
10. Attend job training and safety meetings as required or directed.
11. Attend and participate in annual meeting as needed and available.
12. Perform other duties as may be required or directed.
