The Opportunity
We are looking for great legal minds with in-depth knowledge of global cybersecurity and data protection laws, SaaS technologies, generative Al, and privacy and security incident response processes to join our amazing Privacy Office and Cybersecurity Legal team.
What You'll Do
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Security, IT, Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and other Corporate teams) to assess and provide guidance on potential security risks and regulatory requirements for Adobe's business operations, as well as for our products and services.
- Stay current on evolving cybersecurity, information security, information technology, data breach notification laws, developments, and frameworks in order to provide practical and strategic advice to the business, Security and IT.
- Assist in leading the development, enhancement, maintenance, and compliance activities for Adobe's global incident response program.
- Provide legal analysis regarding notification obligations for Adobe's incident response efforts.
- Provide periodic review and drafting to help maintain Adobe's global security, IT, and data policies, standards, and processes.
- Conduct various privacy assessments (e.g., PIAs, LIAS, DPIAS) and work with teams across the company to provide legal guidance on critical IT and security-related initiatives.
- Review, draft, and support a variety of contract negotiations related to data, privacy, and security, including both customer agreements and other types of third-party agreements (such as with vendors).
- * Develop and provide cybersecurity legal training to other legal and business partners.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar
- Minimum 6+ years of relevant privacy, IT and cyber legal experience, including prior in-house and law firm experience, with CIPP certification(s) preferred
- Ability to work across teams and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Strategic thinker with excellent legal and business judgment
- Strong understanding and experience with cybersecurity, information security, information technology and privacy laws governing North America
- Familiarity and interest in new media and emerging digital technologies, including generative Al
- A detail-oriented, business-friendly team player who can think creatively
- Desire to learn, excellent judgment, fun spirit, and sense of humor
- Work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
- Ability to work successfully in a very fast-paced environment
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $132,800 -- $263,200 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP). In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
