Job Summary:

The Control Systems Engineer I shall have the ability to learn and implement the design, configuration, integration of process control solutions for projects including PLC / DCS systems, HMI packages, SCADA systems, and industrial PC networking technology. l. The job also requires the engineer to work with quality control, quality assurance, production and manufacturing engineering to resolve differences in process control as required per each project.--The ideal candidate should have knowledge of process manufacturing control and technology in all of the following project phases: Requirements documentation including basic software documents, implementation, testing and on-site startup.

Responsibilities:



  • Providing technical support, via telephone and/or on site, to our user base comprising system integrators and users.--Support designing of control systems including developing a bill of materials, panel hardware layouts, heat dissipation calculations and defining appropriate components for design.
  • Support preparation of functional specifications based on customer project requirements.
  • Provide support for estimation and quotation of product, preparing a technical proposal to support the quotation, project and system sales inquiries.
  • Providing assistance in marketing the Toshiba product lines.
  • Support the development, implementation, upgrade and maintenance of the DCS/PLC Lab and all associated hardware and software.
  • Support in preparing presentation materials.
  • This position requires a collaborative team approach as well as the ability to work semi-autonomously within a diverse team environment in a small group.
  • The Control Systems Engineer will assist Toshiba Japan with the PLC and DCS product lines by:

    • Resolving open tasks by updating technical items for the controls system products.
    • Providing feedback on customer issues and comments regarding the control system products.
    • Participate in periodic calls with Toshiba to discuss open issues and project related items.





EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:



  • Minimum 4-year college degree in engineering is required.
  • Electrical or Controls or is preferred.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:



  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of Control Systems Engineering experience is required.
  • Field experience in supporting factories with field instrumentation and controls is a plus.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking, and third-party integration.
  • Proficient in using measuring tools including, but not limited to, multimeters and signal generators.
  • Previous experience with PLC/DCS and HMI/SCADA systems.-
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Motivated to work as part of a team and as an individual contributor.
  • Knowledgeable in LINUX Programming.
  • Knowledge in new technologies such as IIOT, Artificial Intelligence and/or Edge controllers.
  • Knowledge in Virtual Machine computing and Thin Client technology.
