Overview

The Director of Commercialization is a high-energy, strategic leader responsible for driving the go-to-market success of Weather Guard's Work Vehicle Solutions channel. This role is not just about launching products-it's about creating excitement, building customer demand, and accelerating growth. Acting as the face of product commercialization, this individual will work across sales, marketing, operations, and supply chain to ensure flawless execution of growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

Strategic Commercialization & Business Growth

    Be the leader and public face of commercialization efforts-building enthusiasm, engagement, and market momentum for new product launches and key growth initiatives.
  • Develop and execute high-impact go-to-market strategies, ensuring successful product introductions, customer conversions, and sales channel activation.
  • Partner with product marketing, sales, and operations to create commercialization strategies that drive customer adoption, market expansion, and revenue growth.
  • Establish a repeatable, scalable commercialization framework that simplifies execution, drives accountability, and delivers measurable business impact.
  • Serve as the Voice of the Customer, identifying key market needs, competitive opportunities, and conversion strategies.
  • Track performance metrics to measure the impact of commercialization efforts and adjust strategies as needed to ensure success.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers to guide our commercialization efforts and ensure buy-in.

Market Engagement & Customer-First Innovation

  • Act as a thought leader and brand ambassador, building relationships with customers, distributors, and industry influencers to drive product adoption.
  • Develop strong connections within sales channels, ensuring our messaging and positioning are consistent, compelling, and designed to win.
  • Guide product leaders with real-world customer insights, helping define growth opportunities that align with market demands.
  • Organize and lead high-energy product launch events, training sessions, and sales activations to build momentum in the marketplace.

Financial & Operational Management

  • Performance will be measured by overall business unit performance, NPD financial performance, promotional performance, growth through conversions.
  • Manage commercialization budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across the product portfolio.
  • Ensure that all commercialization activities stay within budget, achieving key financial metrics and ROI targets.
  • Optimize operational processes to streamline product development and market entry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business (preferred), Marketing, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in product commercialization or related functions within the manufacturing or industrial sectors.
  • Proven track record of leading successful product launches and commercialization strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the product lifecycle, market trends, and customer needs in a manufacturing context.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation strategies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in commercialization within specific sectors, such as automotive, industrial equipment, or consumer goods manufacturing.
  • Expertise in managing cross-functional projects and driving organizational change.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Special Requirements

  • Ability to travel as required, estimated 50% of the time (Domestic) however upwards of 75% driven by highly strategic commercial launches a few times a year
