Position summary:

The Treasury Credit and Commodity Risk Analyst will play a key role in supporting risk management for the company and driving informed financial decisions. This position will be responsible for supporting our credit policies and procedures to include assessing, monitoring, and managing credit risk with counterparties. In addition, the position will support the day-to-day commodity risk management risk function for natural gas and electric to ensure practices are in compliance with applicable standards, regulatory requirements and the companies' risk and compliance policies. This position may also support other Treasury functions including debt and equity capital market activities, accounting for financing transactions, and reporting of financial data.

Pay Range: This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.

Level II: $65,300 - $98,050
Senior: $84,600 - 126,900

Reporting Relationship: Manager Treasury and Risk

Location: Rapid City, South Dakota

Essential Functions:
* Evaluate and assess credit requirements of new counterparties; this will include financial statement analysis, credit ratings and industry trend research and evaluation.
* Monitor and periodically reassess counterparty credit limits in accordance with company credit policies to identify potential risks to determine if credit requirements should be modified.
* Maintain an accurate portfolio of standby letters of credit, parent guarantees, and other counterparty credit instruments throughout life cycle from issuance to renewal and expiration, including supporting negotiation of terms with counterparties.
* Apply credit and risk policies consistently to ensure compliance with policies to include performance of annual credit reviews. In addition, this position will assist in the maintenance of policy updates along with updating and preparing process documentation.
* Compile and monitor daily reporting in accordance with natural gas and electric risk policies. This may include reviewing physical and financial positions in the risk management system, monitoring and reporting on daily compliance, performance of confirmation process, and ensuring trades comply with authorization limits.
* Prepare accurate and timely deliverables for external financial reporting requirements (e.g., Form 10K and Form 10Q), in addition to preparing relevant reporting for internal stakeholders at varying levels of the organization.
* Participate in cross training and provide back-up support for other areas within Treasury as needed, including coordinating daily commercial paper (short-term borrowing) requirements and preparing monthly accounting entries related to debt, interest payments and interest accrual transactions and associated reconciliations.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement resulting in a process or task completed with the highest quality outcome.
* Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

What Is Required:

All Levels:
* Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
* Competent level of knowledge related to business and accounting procedures and methods.
* Strong Excel and/or database capabilities required.
* Ability to possess interpretation of a variety of financial reports and statements
* Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously.
* Exercise good business judgment in complex interrelated business issues.
* Ability to function as part of a collaborative team.
* Must have strong computer and analytical skills.
* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment and handle assignments from multiple sources.

Level II:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience of prior experience in accounting or finance related field required.

Senior:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience of prior experience in accounting or finance related field required.

What Is Desired:
* Experience in credit analysis or related field
* Prior experience in utility or energy related industry preferred.
* Experience working with Microsoft Products, Hyperion Essbase/SmartView, Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Strategic Finance a plus.
* Understanding of physical and financial marketing transactions and energy markets.
