10 Position Summary
The Communications Specialist works with internal subject matter experts and external stakeholders to develop and implement communications strategies for a Company serving customers 24/7/365. The successful candidate will focus on creating and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners to develop communication plans and work cross functionally with peers on the Corporate Communications & Marketing team. This position reports to the Manager of Internal Communications or Manager of Public Relations. Tasks and Responsibilities
Minimum Skills Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Entry-level experience in public relations and communications, and measurable, high-level communications campaigns for previous employers and clients.
Ability to multi-task various critical work assignments in a fast-paced environment in a professional manner.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for interaction with all levels of personnel, Board members, media and stakeholders.
Basic knowledge of project management principles and Associated Press Style.
Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
Initiative to work independently or as a member of a team, coordinating with others to achieve desired results.
Ability to make recommendations and independent decisions while knowing when to elevate an issue.
Demonstrated ability to develop materials and messaging that reach diverse audiences across multiple communication platforms.
Basic knowledge of local/regional/national news media landscape and demonstrated ability to shift course with future changes.
Self-directed with proven problem-solving skills.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills and the ability to produce fast, accurate, and lively copy.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience working as part of a team in a creative and collaborative environment.
Strong planning and analytical skills; ability to assess complex situations, make decisions and manage projects from start to a positive outcome.
Ability to work safely in a variety of locations such as the field, construction centers and the main office. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or Related Field from an accredited university. or experience in related field Required Certifications Working Environment
Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events. Physical Demands
