Description

Note: APA operates on a 37.5-hour work week with one hour lunch breaks each day. APA sets salaries based on several considerations, including years of relevant experience, level of education, and previous staff and/or governance experience at APA.

The Head of Marketing and Sales, Business Innovation and Growth leads multi-channel marketing and sales activities/programs and is responsible for developing B2B marketing and sales strategies and initiatives for the product lines within the Business Innovation and Growth (BIG) office. This business-critical leadership function is core for achieving APA's aggressive growth plan and targeted revenue goals over the next 5 years. This position holds ultimate accountability for the go-to-market positioning, acquisition, lifecycle management, and is the primary Marketing stakeholder within the BIG office, accountable to the Chief Business Innovation and Growth Officer.

Education and Experience Required



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field (or 10+ years of equivalent experience); MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of progressively complex experience in sales, marketing, and brand management experience with a focus on B2B marketing.
  • Experience marketing/sales to large corporations preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful corporate marketing and sales strategies that drive brand visibility, lead generation, and revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of B2B marketing tactics, including account-based marketing (ABM), demand generation, and content marketing.
  • A track record of driving growth and customer acquisition.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable marketing plans and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing channels and tools, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, content marketing, and marketing automation.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to lead the crafting of compelling narratives and messages that resonate with target audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing and sales technology platforms and analytics tools.
  • A data-driven approach to decision-making and optimization.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action, creativity, and innovation.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with marketing automation, CRM, data analysis, sales enablement, and account-based marketing technologies required.
  • International marketing and sales experience preferred.
  • Bilingual - Eng/Spanish, Eng/Portuguese, or Eng/French preferred.


Computer Skills Required



  • Experience using and optimizing Salesforce and Qualtrics.
  • Advance experience with Microsoft Office Suite.


Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:



  • Lead and design a compelling strategy and spearhead the initiatives, leverage myriad channels that drive our global customer acquisition, retention, lead generation and revenue/margin growth.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing and sales team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Lead market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive threats, informing product development, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Manage agencies and partners that may include sales, digital, social, traditional media, channel marketing and creative services.
  • Manage a budget and appropriately execute against the budget for an effective ROI.


Customer Acquisition:



  • Lead customer acquisition efforts across digital and traditional channels, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, content marketing, events, and partnerships.
  • Develop and execute a content strategy to create compelling and relevant content that resonates with our target audience, driving traffic, engagement, and lead generation.
  • Enhance website performance through A/B testing, user experience improvements, and conversion rate optimization.


Sales Leadership:



  • Manage a sales team and agency, setting sales goals and quotas.
  • Oversee sales processes and motivate sales representatives to achieve sales targets.
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.


CRM and Customer Engagement:



  • Develop and manage CRM strategies to nurture leads and improve customer retention.
  • Utilize customer data to create targeted marketing campaigns and personalized experiences.
  • Leverage data, marketing technology and demand generation best practices to deliver highly customized user journeys and personalization at scale.
  • Partner with Sales to develop target account criteria, outbound prospecting playbooks, inbound lead nurturing programs, CRM best practices, and enablement assets.
  • Enable Marketing and Sales teams to identify and engage prospective accounts earlier in their buying processes and accelerate corporate relationships.


Data and Analytics:



  • Work cross-functionally to optimize robust analytics framework and tools to track, measure, and report on marketing performance.
    Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and optimize marketing investments in real time.
