Team Leader (Shift Supervisor)

Shift, Nights, 6 PM to 6 AM

Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, Oak Plains Academy offers psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents ages 7-17, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. The Oak Plains Academy campus features a full-size gymnasium, separate academic building, and four dormitories. Our wooded campus provides an excellent opportunity for outdoor recreational activities such as fishing, hiking, softball and basketball.

We are currently looking for an TEAM LEADER to join our team of dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate will be patient, accepting, and compassionate and have a true desire to help children. The candidate is someone who can adhere to strict guidelines for our policies regarding supervision of the youth in our care. There will be times when overtime is required and we are seeking someone who can adapt to flexible schedules and is passionate about helping youth with mental health and behavioral problems.

The Team Leader manages and is accountable for the overall care and documentation of resident care on assigned unit(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Oak Plains Academy's policies and procedures. Ensures that staff are following and implementing the program, unit schedules, and Oak Plains Academy's policies and procedures. The Team Leader is assigned to the CODE Team and expected to utilize verbal de-escalation of residents including identifying and implementing actions that reduce physical holds of residents. Must understand, practice and support the 3 Service Excellence standards to foster a positive working environment.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor Degree in psychology, or related field preferred
  • MINIMUM G.E.D/HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA plus at least 1-3 years experience in a residential behavioral health setting working with youth/adolescents and as a supervisor.
  • 21 years of age, with a valid state Driver License in good standing
  • Flexible schedule
  • This role requires the use of Handle with Care
  • This role requires a full background check including fingerprint, drug screen, and employment verification.
