Summary: Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer

As a Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures on the Microsoft Azure platform. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, implementing data integration solutions, and ensuring data quality and integrity. You will leverage your expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other Azure services to optimize data workflows and support business intelligence initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Data Pipelines: Create and manage ETL processes using Fabric Data Factory to ingest, process, and transform data from various sources.
  • Data Integration: Implement data integration solutions to consolidate data from multiple systems into a unified data platform.
  • Optimize Data Workflows: Enhance data processing performance and scalability using Notebooks and Data Pipelines
  • Data Quality and Integrity: Ensure high data quality and integrity by implementing best practices for data validation, cleansing, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions that meet business needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for data architectures, processes, and workflows.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Technical Skills: Strong skills and experience in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, or other cloud analytics services.
  • Programming: Strong skills and experience with SQL and Python.
  • Experience: Proven experience in designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize data workflows.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer Associate or similar certifications.
  • Experience with Big Data: Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks such as Spark.
  • Knowledge of BI Tools: Experience with business intelligence tools like Power BI.

* No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* If a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (i.e. Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Analytics, etc.), then three (3) years of experience is required.
* If a Bachelor's Degree in other field, requires five (5) years of experience.
* If Master's Degree, then three (3) years of experience is required.
* If PhD, then one (1) year of experience is required.
* If an Associate's Degree, requires seven (7) years of experience.
* If High School Diploma, requires nine (9) years of experience.

* INTERMEDIATE- Intermediate Proficiency: You are able to successfully complete tasks in this competency as requested. Help from an expert may be required from time to time, but you can usually perform the skill independently.

EXPERT- Expert Proficiency: You are a known expert in this area. You can provide guidance, troubleshoot, and answer questions related to this area of expertise and the field where the skill is used.
