About the McGrath Outpatient Pavilion: Located in Hillcrest, the McGrath Outpatient Pavilion is a state-of-the-art, 250,000-square-foot medical facility designed to meet the growing healthcare needs of our region. Spanning six floors, this advanced facility is home to key clinical programs and offers specialized diagnostic, treatment, and surgical services. With a strong emphasis on cancer care, we are committed to delivering world-class medical services in a patient-centered environment.

The primary location for this position will be Hillcrest but will be required to float to all UCSD locations.

DESCRIPTION

Under direction of Mail Services Supervisor or Sr. Mail Processor, sorts and bundles U.S.P.S. and Medical Center mail. Maintains delivery schedule while conducting mail delivery routes and collections on and off premises. Processes outgoing mail section utilizing electronic scale, accounting system and electronic meter in accordance with U.S. postal regulations. Services front counter in Mail Center. Delivers and picks up U.S.P.S. mail while operating a van or similar large motor vehicle. Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required to hold valid driver's license and have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures.

  • Two (2) years of experience in handling campus and U.S. mail, including a working knowledge of postal regulations and postal rates.

  • Ability to read, write, perform mathematical calculations, understand and follow generalized and specific work instructions, both oral and written.

  • Perform tasks for prolonged periods while standing, walking, driving, operating hand trucks, electric carts, forklifts, and other motorized moving equipment.

  • Lift and transport heavy mail sacks.

  • Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

  • Ability to perform repetitive work; lift heavy objects and have good eye-hand coordination.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Healthcare Environment Experience.
  • Mail processing of campus and U.S. mail.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $41,864 - $55,207 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $20.05 - $26.44

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
