Job Purpose

This role is crucial for ensuring that the organization's projects are governed effectively and aligned with strategic goals and objectives. As the Governance & Performance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting projects through their gate governance by providing central assurance. You will drive the embedment and continuous improvement of the Network Delivery Process and Portfolio processes and procedures.

The position leads a team of Analysts and Program Managers focused on governance, performance management and reporting, risk management, and driving continuous improvement for the safe and efficient delivery of Capital Projects under the Network Delivery Process.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Develop a Clear Governance Framework:
    • Establish clear policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistent governance practices.
    • Regularly review and update the governance framework to align with industry standards and regulatory requirements
    • Provide ongoing process and guidance support, mentoring teams to ensure adherence to project and program management methodologies.
  2. Effective Risk Management:
    • Implement a robust risk management process to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with project governance and performance
    • Develop risk management strategies to address potential vulnerabilities
  3. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Maintain open communication with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.
    • Involve stakeholders in decision-making processes to ensure their buy-in and support
  4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project performance and identify areas for improvement.
    • Provide regular performance reports to senior management and stakeholders
  5. Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive the continuous improvement of the Network Delivery Process.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback and implementing best practices.
    • Stay informed about relevant issues, new policy obligations, challenges, industry trends, and innovations to enhance governance and performance management practices.
    • Identify, pursue, evaluate, recommend, and deliver innovative solutions that optimize outcomes and contribute to a best practice governance function
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, Associate Degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience, 5-7+ years equivalent experience accepted

  • Proven experience in change management, governance, and project delivery within largescale infrastructure projects, ideally in the energy sector, with a deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements required.

  • Proficient in project management tools and methodologies

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and drive evidence based decision making

  • Prior team leadership and management skills preferred

  • Prior experience leading process change with lean six sigma preferred

  • Ability to travel to project sites as required with a valid driver's license and safe driving history

  • Must have MS Office computer skills (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

More Information

Salary:$154,000 - $181,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
