Job Summary We are seeking a Lead Bridge Engineer to join TYLin's Bridge Sector in Rockaway, NJ. In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in a broad portfolio of exciting projects regionally, nationally and internationally. The primary scope of this role is to develop bridge and structure designs for local agencies and design-build clients, deliver projects on time, on budget and with high quality. It requires strong project management skills as well as the ability to lead and mentor junior staff. Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You'll Do:

  • Perform design and analysis of complex concrete and steel bridge structures. Experience with long span bridges is an asset.

  • Advanced structural engineering and analysis capabilities, including ability to perform seismic analysis.

  • Design of concrete and steel bridge structures.

  • Develop designs, contract plans and specifications.

  • Coordinate with and direct CAD production activities for drawing production.

  • Conduct quality control activities for independent review and checking of structural designs.

  • Interface with civil engineers for development of complete project plans and specifications.

  • Develop engineering studies, reports and documentation.

  • Oversee and review calculations and designs performed by engineers.

  • Other assignments as needed.

What You'll Need:

  • Professional Engineering License (PE) in New Jersey, New York or Pennsylvania.

  • Bachelor's degree in civil / structural engineering required. Master's degree preferred.

  • Must have at least 15+ years of structural design experience in bridges and related structures. Project management experience is also required.

  • Ability to perform advanced structural analysis and designs. Experience in CSI Bridge is a plus.

  • Familiarity with AASHTO, NJDOT, PennDOT and NJTA design and standards preferred.

  • Proficient in leading technical aspects of bridge projects, writing reports, preparing drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations.

  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.

  • Sound oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.

Additional Information

T.Y. Lin International is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $153,600 -$230,400 annually for this position and local market.
