Stanley Consultants is currently seeking a Senior Construction Inspector for our Phoenix, AZ office. This position will provide construction observation/inspection for civil infrastructure improvements including water/wastewater collection/distribution facilities, roadways, drainage facilities, and underground utilities.

What You Will Be Doing:



  • Assist with engineering tasks such as collection and analysis of data.
  • Check construction cost computations and quantity estimates.
  • Perform on site-daily observation of the contractor's construction work and compares the work product to the project's approved plans and specifications.
  • Prepare daily field reports documenting progress of the Contractor's work.
  • Review the quality of the contractor's work.
  • Maintain daily logs of inspections and reports. Review any discrepancies with the proper parties.
  • Facilitate Construction Progress Meeting and prepare/distribute meeting minutes.
  • Communicate all issues with the proper project team members expeditiously.
  • Assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.


In the course of business, the member will be required to operate a company vehicle. A mandatory prerequisite to operating a company vehicle is maintaining an acceptable driving record.

Required Qualifications:



  • 4-Year construction management degree, business degree and 0 - 4 years of construction related experience OR
  • Associates degree in construction management program with a minimum of 5 years of construction related experience OR
  • No degree and a minimum of 10 years of construction related experience in a field applicable to the work assignment.
  • The ideal candidate will have construction experience within the City of Phoenix and/or Town of Gilbert.
  • Inspection experience in the construction of water/wastewater collection/distribution facilities, the construction of underground utilities, and pipelines, and transportation related construction.
  • This job requires good communication and documentation skills (MS Word, Internet) and an individual capable of performing with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of performing with minimal supervision.
  • This job entails extensive manual labor, including the ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. Requires the ability to work at and easily maneuver around construction sites in various weather conditions. Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolding and trenches. Fear of heights or confined spaces could create a significant hardship.
  • A general knowledge of construction techniques and an ability to read plans and specifications is mandatory.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Materials certifications (ACI, ATTI, NASSCO etc.)


Work hours of this position may vary and will require work at any time the general contractor is on-site performing work activities.
