Overview

CAES Mission Systems, Lansdale, PA is seeking for a Buyer II. Your primary focus will be purchasing materials, equipment, supplies, and commodity products for delivery at specified time and location. This will require negotiating pricing, discounts, and contracts and obtain materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability or source and urgency of need. You will also be responsible for supervising preparation of orders and follow up to expedite delivery and shipment. Additinally, obtain certifications of delivery and conduct checks against orders.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE; but not limited to:

  • Reviews and edits purchase requisitions and/or bids for negotiating and awarding Purchase Orders of a variety of items to ensure complete and accurate information, as well as appropriate approvals have been obtained.
  • Requests and analyzes quotes to ensure reasonable price and those items meet Company design and specification.
  • Prepares purchase orders and arranges for blueprints, specifications, material and tooling to be forwarded to suppliers.
  • Assists in the selection of the most economical proposal and negotiates with the supplier in accordance with Company and Government regulations.
  • On occasion may investigate availability of new products and processes.
  • Expedites material to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Performs price analysis as needed.
  • Attends conferences between supplier personnel and other Company employees.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving with minimal guidance and understanding of impact to other functions.
  • Ability to work independent to resolve issues and seek supervisor assistance for more uncommon problems.

Qualifications

HOW TO SUCCEED

Minimun

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • This is considered an entry level role encompassing the first 2 years of experience.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.

Preferred:

  • Intermediate Level Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to apply best practices and exercise critical thinking to complete moderately complex work assignments.
  • 2-4 years experience in defense or government contracting industry.
  • Experience in procuring services as well as materials.
  • Oracle ERP.
