Massachusetts General Hospital would like to invite the nursing students of Bouve College of Nursing at Northeastern University to submit an application for the Fall 2025 Coop.
The start date for this position is Monday, June 30, 2025, and the end date is Friday, December 26, 2025.

In order to serve the Northeastern University nursing community better, Massachusetts General Hospital provided a list of Clinical units looking to support a Nursing Students Coop.

The duties of Patient Care Assistant I(PCA) include:

  • Assisting the healthcare team; the PCA promotes a safe and caring environment for patients under the guidance of an RN.

  • PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs.

  • Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

If any of the units you are interested in are filled, we will inform you of the next vacancy based on your listed choices.

  • General Medicine

  • General Surgery

  • Neurology

  • Orthopedics

  • Ortho/Urology

  • Oncology

  • Medical/Oncology

  • Endoscopy

  • Pediatrics

  • Labor & Delivery

  • Inpatient Psych

  • Gynecology/Surgery

  • Cardiac Access

    • Cardiac Surgery Step

    • Cardiac Arrythmia Step

  • Burns

  • Respiratory Acute Care Unit

  • Emergency Main Department

    • ED Acute Psychiatry

    • ED Short Stay

Must have previous Coop or Clinical experience for all Intensive Care units, which include:

  • Multidisciplinary ICU

  • Neuro ICU

  • Cardiac ICU

  • Burn ICU

  • Surgical ICU

  • Medical ICU

  • Cardiac Surgical ICU

  • Pediatrics ICU

Requirements:

  • CPR: Either American Red Cross or and American Heart Association for Health Care Providers is required. Any other provider of CPR certification will not be accepted.

  • Education Level: Enrolled sophomore to senior nursing students
