Position Overview The Installation Operations Project Manager will collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and is accountable for supervising all installation operations and managing technician projects in the Southern California and Desert regions. - Manage and coordinate operational activity for Cryogenic technicians.
- Manage various projects that include but are not limited to plant repairs, equipment installations, gas delivery systems, and bulk and micro bulk tank installations.
- Emphasis on work productivity and efficiency. Help identify more efficient system installs, including properly sizing systems which allow for reduced distribution costs.
- Work with sales on customer site installations and ensure safety and compliance requirements are met, including meeting local and regional code requirements.
- Ability to work with and communicate with engineers to complete various projects.
- Work to ensure projects and installations are made on time and within budget.
- Provide the sales team with job installation quotes.
- Spec out tanks and equipment and work with purchasing to acquire assets when approved.
- Review and approve timecard entries before submitting them for payroll processing, including assessing and authorizing time off requests and scheduling time off according to operational needs.
- Provide guidance and, as needed, backup management support for the National City production plant and El Cajon Cylinder Maintenance operations.
- Responsible for administering the company's safety program in the designated area, which includes conducting safety meetings with installation technicians.
- Partners with the Safety and Compliance and HR departments to ensure training is coordinated and effectively executive whenever necessary.
- Works closely with the operations manager to enhance employee development and effectively support performance reviews.
- Create and maintain a positive, safe, and effective work environment.
- Other duties as needed on an operational basis.
Requirements
- 5+ years of logistics and production in the manufacturing or industrial gases environment preferred
- Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Project Management skills required. PMP and other project management certifications a plus.
- Strong persuasion, negotiation, and customer presentation skills.
- Solid computer skills and using Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Monday.com, and the Internet.
- Knowledge and experience with DOT and FDA requirements a plus
- Ability to travel as needed
Supervisory Responsibility No direct reports; however, 3-5 technicians will have dotted line accountability to this position. Physical Demands The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing this job, the employee must stand for long periods, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone, keyboard reach, stoop, and kneel. This person must be able to lift, carry, or set down 50+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
