Meter Service Technician

Pay: $20.00/hr

Shift: 1st shift, either 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

The Meter Service Technician will serve as both a meter reader and a meter service technician on a rotating basis. Responsibilities include setting, removing, reading, evaluating, turning on/off, and performing minor repairs on water meters. The role also involves entering meter readings into a hand-held unit for processing.

Essential Functions:

• Set, remove, turn on/off water meters, and perform minor repairs.
• Field test and bench test meters.
• Check for leaks and poor pressure in meters.
• Read and record water usage for residential and commercial customers.
• Report any issues with meters, meter boxes, or CWS equipment.
• Complete work tickets and inventory requests.
• Assist with correcting crossed services and operating corresponding valves.
• Maintain CWS vehicles and equipment.
• Adhere to policies and procedures, and work during emergencies when needed.

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience in construction, pipefitting, meter reading, manufacturing, or utilities.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
